M Financial Group Dallas Office

ROLE: Design Director

Challenge

As M Financial prepared to open its new Dallas office, we set out to extend the brand into the physical space—creating welcoming, inspiring graphics that aligned with our values and made strategic use of key wall surfaces across two floors.

Approach

To understand the space and communicate clearly with both our internal team and external partners, I visited the location while it was under construction to walk the site, map key sightlines and take photos. Working in collaboration with BHA Architects, PaceGFX, our facilities manager, and our director of Marketing and Events, we identified priority locations for branded storytelling.  which I would later map those to floorplans and architectural renders.

Using scaled schematics, I led both our internal design team and the team at Pace in creating layout options to present to our internal stakeholders. These included both flat, front-facing views with annotated elevations, and photo-based mockups showing how each graphic would appear in the real environment.

Once designs were approved, I collaborated closely with Pace  to finalize production specs—detailing materials, finishes, dimensions, and colors for fabrication and installation.

The following is what became our complete list of deliverables:

  • Mission Statement Wall

  • Values Wall

  • Founders Wall, adapted from our Portland Headquarters

  • Historical Timeline Wall, also adapted

  • Member Firm Map, also adapted, and we replaced physical Member Firm logos with a digital experience, accessed by QR code

  • Textured Wall Installation featuring a custom topographic pattern of the nearby Katy Trail

  • Lenticular Hallway Feature: A mural that shifts depending on perspective, connecting the Dallas and Portland locations through a fun postcard theme

  • Glass Treatments for entryways and conference rooms, to provide privacy along with a sense of elegance

  • Signage, along with conference room naming

  • Dimensional logos

Results

The final graphics were installed over a single weekend ahead of the Dallas Grand Opening. The office was recognized by the Dallas Business Journal as one of the “Coolest Offices in DFW.” More importantly, the installations helped reinforce company culture, welcome employees into the space, and connect the new office to our broader brand story.
