Microsoft Ignite Conference

ROLE: Senior Art Director

Overview

One of my first contract projects at Razorfish was assisting in a massive effort to create branding and launch the site for Microsoft’s first Ignite conference in 2015. It was through my contributions, and my abilities to assist with motion guidance and documentation that ultimately led to me being extended an offer at the company.

Video Integration and Motion

One of my key responsibilities was integrating motion into the site. Here is an example of the video player opening in-line with the hero.

Guidance and Art Direction

The site’s header graphic loaded in parallax layers to reinforce the concept of an innovative spark. To assist in my art direction, I broke out these layers into After Effects to test motion and y-position and provide accurate specs to our dev team to achieve the effect of lighted cubes descending above the hero.

I also wrote the style guide for the conference, for extending the brand across all messaging, signage and other assets associated with the conference.

Brand Application

I mocked up an extensive set of branded assets and touch points to help visualize the experience for conference attendees, both to sell the concept and write the style guide for Microsoft's event staff and third party vendors.
